NASA Education - Serving those who served

Thank You!

On behalf of John Blanchard, Executive Director of NASA Education we would like to thank you for your support of the Fall Veterans Conference, NASA Education's programs, and your kindness and generosity to the veterans.

NASA Education Corporation rates #1 in the eyes of veterans when it comes to assisting them and in hosting Stand Downs. The non-profit organization held its 13h major Stand Down event for veterans on October 2, 2013 at its corporation office, located at 3305 South Illinois Route 31 in Crystal Lake, IL.

With only 2 ˝ weeks notice, 186 veterans of all ages turned out to receive a portion of 56 pallets of military gear, civilian clothing and assistance from those service providers who took the time from their busy schedules to come out and assist. John Blanchard, Executive Director of NASA Education was encouraged by the outpouring support received from the community and veterans in attendance. “I am very pleased with the attendance and I, along with my staff are in the planning stages for the spring event. This event went very smooth and as with past events we were grateful to see a lot of our supporters in attendance”. We would like to thank the Vet Center, local employers, our loyal volunteers and staff who were in attendance to help service the veterans and for realizing that the Stand Down is about the veterans and nothing else. A special thanks goes out to our friends at Country Donuts and Jewel for their generous donations; we couldn’t do this without your generosity

NASA Education is a Crystal Lake-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with three major projects:

  • Project Fresh Start, a workforce and community reintegration program for U.S. veterans who are displaced, disabled, homeless, unemployed or otherwise in transition
  • the Stand Down for Veterans, which takes place in spring and fall of each year
  • transitional housing for homeless veterans who need a hand up to obtain skills that will eventually lead to fulltime employment and self sufficiency.

NASA Education welcomes donations of cash, vehicles, appliances, household goods such as furniture, dishes and kitchen equipment, nonperishable food, and new or gently used clothing for the veterans.

Please check back frequently as we are in the process of scheduling the Spring Veterans Conference which will take place in March/April, 2012.

It takes many hands and hearts to make an event of this magnitude come together for the veterans.
